What is Acellus Academy?

Acellus Academy is a K–12 online private school in Kansas City, Missouri, operated by the nonprofit International Academy of Science. It delivers distance education through the Acellus Learning System, featuring video-based instruction by nationally recognized master teachers. The school serves a diverse U.S. and some international student body seeking alternatives to traditional schools (medical needs, tougher coursework, safety, flexibility, or second-chance programs). Its flexible yet rigorous programs have led graduates to be accepted at top universities.

Acellus Academy, established in 2013, utilizes the Acellus Learning System, which originated from a 30+ year International Academy of Science effort and launched in 2001. The system offers 400+ courses and serves as the proven core curriculum for the academy, which has since seen strong enrollment and student success.

Students study online at their own pace. This gives parents, proctors, and coaches the freedom to arrange school time in a manner that best suits the student.
